  • Palms and feet turn yellow, due to lack of nutrients
  • Constipation
  • Always cold

Signs:
  • Excessive amount of exercise
  • Negative attitude towards themselves
  • Intense fear of gaining weight
  • Refuses to eat to get nutrition
  • Loses at least 15% of their body weight
  • Insists they are fat even if none is actually there
  • Preoccupied with his or her body image

Treatment:

  • promote weight gain
  • promote healthy eating patterns
  • enlist family support
  • therapy
  • specific treatment facilities
